Agent-native GTM · #1 Contrarian Killshot
Most cold outbound is dead. Here's what replaced it: 54% of Anthropic's new enterprise logos now come in self-serve. No SDR. No discovery call. No pipeline review. The buyer found the product, tried it, and bought it before sales knew the company existed. If you still think outbound's job is to interrupt that journey, you're optimizing the wrong thing. The old motion: 1. Buy a list. 2. Blast a template. 3. Hope a human replies. 4. Hand it to an SDR to qualify. 5. Repeat until the quarter ends. The new motion: 1. Scout the signal. Product telemetry, hiring posts, funding, stack changes. Not bought intent. 2. Pre-screen with an agent. Kill 80% of misfits before a single message goes out. 3. Write one specific opener per company. Not per persona. Per company. 4. Send through Instantly. One inbox per role, warmed, sub-1% bounce. 5. Triage every reply with an agent that books or kills in under 5 minutes. 6. The human only enters the meeting. The shift isn't "AI writes the email." That's the chatbot-in-a-trench-coat version everyone is shipping right now, and buyers smell it immediately. The shift is that the agent reads the signal, makes the call on who is worth a message, and writes back to the CRM when the answer comes in. Bidirectional. The human stops being the bottleneck and starts being the closer. The enterprise GTM orgs cutting 30% of headcount while expecting 2x revenue per rep aren't being cruel. They're being honest about what the next stack looks like. If your outbound still needs an SDR to send it, you don't have a sales team. You have a payroll problem with a quota attached. What's the first part of your outbound you'd hand to an agent tomorrow?
